Tubular plain weave with continuous and knotted warp
In 2001 I took part in a memorable textile trip in Peru during which we benefited from Ed Franquemont’s brilliantly clear and passionate explanations of extremely complex techniques. In memory and celebration of Ed and of those complexities I created these tail-biting snakes for whose continuous and knotted warp I invented a special warping board.
Each snake is in tubular plain weave woven on a backstrap loom which is removed once the snake is completed.
